Chillin' in the CT

I'm home! December 7th, 3 days ago now, I got off the M/V Explorer for the last time in sunny San Diego. At the time, I was incredibly happy to get off of the ship. 2 weeks on the ship with only one day in port is a reaaaallly long time. OMG, I was so bored. To perhaps give you an idea of exactly how bored I was, let me highlight 2 things I did in the last week of the voyage. First, myself and 3 other people did a 1000 piece puzzle in ONE NIGHT. Yes, we sat there for 4 straight hours and puzzled away. I HAVENT DONE A PUZZLE SINCE I WAS 6! Seriously, finals were over and there was fuck nothing to do. You'd think they'd AT LEAST have a pub night to sort of celebrate, but no. End of finals at Stanford: drunken, high craziness running around campus and causing a ruckus. End of finals on SAS: 1000 piece puzzle. Yeah. The next night, I snorted a line of crushed up Flinstones vitamins with two other people. My reasoning? "Seemed like a good idea at the time." Yeah, not too much to say about that. I'm glad to be back.

Some of you are probably wondering, "Didn't Evan go to Hong Kong/China and Japan and Hawaii after Vietnam? Why is there nothing written about those countries?" The reason is I got lazy. Kinda. After getting back on the boat in Hong Kong to sail to Japan, schoolwork realllly picked up. I had to write pages and pages of oceanography reports, journals for my Japan class, and get together a presentation for my religion class. After I finished any one of these big projects, I really didn't feel like sitting down and writing 7-10 pages about what I had done in these countries. I was just out of writing juice. Seriously, I have written more while on SAS than during the rest of my college career combined, and I'm pretty sure that is no exaggeration. So, for those of you who were really looking forward to hearing about my last two foreign countries, sorry, I can fill you in in person when I see you (which for everyone, is pretty soon!)

OK, yeah, I'm back! Greenwich people, get your asses home so we can rock these suburbs, and Stanford peeps, I can't wait to be back in January and hang with you all in your various awesome housing around campus. PEACE.
